Freeze-drying turns a cold-chain reagent into a ready-to-run format. For each product we work out formulation, fill volume, drying cycle and seal, then run pilot lots before committing to supply.

CrestForge manufactures, sells and supports the RhinoSeq NGS line from Carlsbad. RhinoSeq builds sequencing-ready Illumina DNA libraries in 20 to 40 minutes from as little as 10 ng of DNA, in a single tube.

Three steps in one tube

  1. Fragment. DNA is fragmented enzymatically, without GC bias.
  2. Ligate. One master mix creates sequence-specific overhangs for fast, efficient adapter ligation.
  3. Index and size-select. Sequence directly or amplify with D5/D7 dual indexes, then a single size selection.

The name

A crest is a wave at its full height. A forge is where raw material takes a shape that holds.

We work a few miles from the Pacific in Carlsbad, and we named the company for both ideas. Our job is to bring a promising reagent to its peak, then make it exactly that way, every lot.

Our team has manufactured more than $43M in molecular product at scale, with experience from Thermo Fisher, Sigma-Aldrich and Argonaut. CrestForge puts that experience to work for partners, for the RhinoSeq line and for NICER.
